DC Equipment – Madill launch and a little surprise

On 31 May to celebrate the manufacturing debut of Madill log loaders in New Zealand, special guests were invited to DC HQ in Tasman. FICA board members Nathan Taylor (Mechanised Cable Harvesting, MCH) and Steven Yeoman (Volcanic Plateau Logging) attended the event on behalf of FICA.

The event also set the scene of what’s to come for DC Equipment's journey with Madill, with the surprise unveiling of the Madill RFM 1100 (remote felling machine) prototype.

Dale Ewers is the founder and owner of DC Equipment and also a valued FICA board member.

As Dale says:

"DC Equipment is a Tasman based New Zealand business in the forestry and manufacturing sectors operating on a global stage. In the coming weeks we will be completing the inaugural production of Madill log loaders by DC Equipment, right here in Nelson-Tasman, New Zealand. A significant achievement for the brand and also DC Equipment. We believe these to be the first excavators to be manufactured in New Zealand.

Last year, DC Equipment acquired Madill which was established in 1917. The Madill brand has long been synonymous with quality and dependability in forest harvesting machines. Now, under the stewardship of DC Equipment, this historic moment not only reinvigorates the Madill brand through innovation but also heralds a new era for Madill and local manufacturing."

DC Equipment contributes 130 jobs to the local economy in Nelson and is selling forestry equipment around the world, improving environmental and H&S outcomes.

This is a great example of Kiwis leading the way in innovation. Congratulations to Dale and team! We are all watching with interest as the journey continues.
