William McGlade is the Wood Processing Excellence Award at the 2022 Hawkes Bay Forestry Awards.
He has previously worked in the timber industry at various mills and immediately showed potential with his employer Pan Pac. He has valuable experience in machining and has showed excellent work ethic.
He has stepped up and moved out of his comfort zone and applied for a position with more responsibility, with some encouragement from the team, and has once again been successful.
The challenges and demands of maintaining the throughput at the workplace, William has been one of the champions to learn new skills with robotics and continue to provide positive feedback to the team. He is not only responsible for the performance in his working area, but also plays an integral part in the training and coordination of the department in general.
Excellent examples to others, work ethic and a can-do attitude, William always leads the team in the right direction to get production done and safely. He has very high standards and leads by example as well as being proactive when it comes to making improvements or solving issues in all areas of production, including the innovation involved with robotics.
