Update your info with FICA

To enable FICA to better serve our members we are looking to update existing data in our database and collect new information. New information we want to collect includes:

  • An email address for newsletters etc and a second for administration. I quite often get responses from your administrator telling me that the email should have gone to the owner/manager. We want the ability to direct communications in the right direction.

  • The Region(s) you operate in and the Forest Manager(s) you work for. This is important when for example, I’m contacted by FSC auditors and asked for comment on Forest Managers, noting that this would only be in aggregate and would not identify individual contractors.

  • Clearly defining whether you are a harvesting, silviculture, or engineering contractor, or a number of these, as some of you are.

  • If you are a harvesting contractor we also want to understand what type of crews you are running – tower, swing yarder, harvestline, winch assist ground based, ground base.

  • The number of crews.

  • The approximate number of people you employ.

I know this is a big ask but I expect it to take no more than 5 minutes. This information will be invaluable in making FICA a more effective organization for your benefit.

You will note that the final question in the data update is an updated privacy consent that ensures that the data you have supplied is used appropriately for your benefit.
